SocialErasmus is an ESN international project that aims to involve young citizens during their mobility experience through volunteering activities that take social action, fostering change in the society.  The project goes under the slogan: LEAVE YOU MARK!

Aim
The aim of SocialErasmus is to enrich the international experience of young people abroad with volunteering activities that allow them to understand society’s problems and to work on the solutions. SocialErasmus provides an opportunity for international young people to get to know other realities and learn how they can contribute to improving society as citizens of the world.

SE activities
We organize some SE activities each semester. Our successful events were Walking Dogs, Karaoke Night, ESN in Kindergarten or ESN Usti and St. Nicholas at Orphanage. You can look forward to many more great SocialErasmus events.

Odjet studovat do zahraničí na určitou dobu je pro mladé studenty velmi náročné, neboť musí čelit neznámému prostředí, cizímu jazyku a kultuře.  O to obtížnější je to pro studenty se zdravotním postižením. Proto existuje projekt ExchangeAbility, který byl vytvořen pod záštitou ESN.
Důvod byl takový, aby naše organizace byla přístupná i pro studenty se zdravotním postižením. 

Cíle projektu
Projekt má dvojí cíl, který lze shrnout takto:
1) Poukázat na ESN jako na přístupnější organizaci pro zdravotně postižené na všech úrovních její činnosti. To znamená, poskytnutí podmínek a možností pro zdravotně postižené studenty, tak aby se aktivně podíleli na práci s mezinárodními studenty a tedy těžit z výměnných programů na svých domácích univerzitách.

2) Zvýšit počet studentů, které mají nějaké zdravotní znevýhodnění, aby s jedním z těchto programů vyrazili do světa. Dlouhodobá vize projektu je podpora příležitosti odcestovat za studiem do zahraničí. ExchangeAbility také spolupracuje s ESN sekcemi, univerzitami a organizacemi, které jsou odborníky v této oblasti, aby vytvořili co nejlepší podmínky pro handicapované studenty během jejich studia v zahraničí.

Going to study abroad for a period of time is a challenging time for young people, as they are facing an unfamiliar environment, a new language and culture to name but a few things. In addition, it can be more even more difficult for students with disabilities who may face inaccessible environments or disability-related stereotypes. As recognition of such challenges, ESN developed the ExchangeAbility project to make our organization accessible for students with disabilities, to help remove obstacles to participation in exchange and promote the opportunities available. 

Aims of the project 

The project has dual aims that can be summarised as: 

1) Making ESN a more accessible association for disabled students at all the levels of its activities. This means that ESN wants to provide the conditions and opportunities for the disabled students to actively be involved in the work with international students and therefore to benefit from the exchange programmes at their home universities. 

2) Increasing the number of students with disabilities going on exchange. The long-term vision of the project is to promote the opportunities and support offered for students with disabilities to study abroad. Also, ExchangeAbility works with ESN sections, HEIs and organizations that are experts in the field to create the best conditions possible for disabled students during their stay abroad.*
